BioExcel Workshop Balkan Edition
2 Days Hands-On Workshop: Hybrid Learning Experience
Jointly organized by BioExcel and supported by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy & Faculty of Physics, DISCOVERER Supercomputer and National Competence Centres in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, this hydrid workshop will offer participants the chance to engage both on-site and online. The workshop will focus on the use of BioExcel core codes such as GROMACS, HADDOCK and PMX with a strong emphasis on hands-on practical sessions and guidance from leading experts in the field.




Date: 21 – 22 May 2025, starting at 10:00h
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Venue: Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy (FCP), Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”
Format: Hybrid (on-site at a lecture hall at FCP and online via Zoom)
Topics: Gromacs introductory level, performance optimization, HADDOCK introductory level, PMX introductory level
Number of participants: up to 40 (30 onsite + 10 online), preference will be given to attendees from the organizing countries and from the region

Who is this course for ?
The BioExcel workshop is designed for early-stage researchers, particularly PhD students and post-doctoral fellows, who are currently using or planning to incorporate biomolecular modeling and simulation into their research projects.
Participants Should Have:
A working knowledge of Linux.
Basic familiarity with molecular modeling software
